About
I grew up in a small town in Ohio just a couple of blocks from Lake Erie. The only way to reach the public library, one of my favorite places, was through a dark, damp tunnel that ran underneath the main road. I went there all the time and probably read almost every book they had. That should have been a clue that I would grow up to become a librarian.
Being a librarian was one of the best jobs in the world. It taught me how important it is to help kids become good readers. Most of the books I write for children have elements that strengthen reading skills.
I have dreamed of becoming a published writer since I was very young and feel blessed to have had that dream come true.
I was a goofy, nerdy kid.
Now, I'm a goofy, nerdy grownup.
